  How do i know if my email is IMAP or POP, and how come POP has less port numbers.

    When you setup the connection with the server in the e-mail client, you choose between POP3 and IMAP. All you have to do to know it, is to remember what you did or have a look in the settings of your e-mail client, if you forgot it.

    The server uses a port for sending and a port for receiving. That are 2 ports, both for POP3 and IMAP.
